How much do embryologist positions jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 21, 2026, the average yearly pay for embryologist positions in the United States is $84,015.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $66,000.00 and $93,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Is there a demand for embryologists?

There is a steady demand for embryologists due to the increasing use of assisted reproductive technologies like IVF. Employment opportunities are expected to grow as fertility treatments become more common and clinics seek skilled professionals with laboratory and micromanipulation skills.

Will AI replace embryologists?

AI technology can assist embryologists by analyzing data and images more quickly and accurately, but it is unlikely to fully replace the specialized skills and clinical judgment required in embryology. Embryologists perform complex tasks such as gamete handling, embryo assessment, and patient interaction that currently require human expertise. AI tools are expected to complement rather than replace embryologists in reproductive laboratories.

What is the highest salary for an embryologist?

The highest salaries for embryologists can exceed $100,000 annually, especially for those with extensive experience, advanced certifications, or working in specialized clinics. Salaries vary based on location, employer, and level of expertise, with senior embryologists and laboratory directors earning the top compensation.
