Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for accurate entry of physician charges
  • Maintains and knowledgeable of all procedural and diagnostic codes which includes identifying appropriate codes and informing staff when services are coded incorrectly.
  • Works with staff to resolve coding issues and associated problems.
  • Responsible for balancing charges daily.
  • Responsible for posting of payments collected by office or department.
  • Participates in educational activities.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Enter data accurately.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills working effectively with patients and co-workers.
  • Must be well organized and detail organized and be able to work independently without much supervision.
  • *Willing to train the right individual.
  • Must demonstrate current competencies applicable for the position such as typing or data entry.
  • Knowledge of clinic/medical practice procedures related to all medical operations.
