Job description

Position Overview: The NPI Electrical team at Cenovus Christina Lake is seeking a fulltime Electrical Technician to support nonprocess infrastructure, utilities, and facility systems. This role operates on a 7/7 rotation (Thursday-Thursday) with 12hour day shifts, providing maintenance and reliability support across camp and site infrastructure.


Shift Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off

Hours Per Day:12

Work Location & Logistics:

  • Christina Lake SAGD Facility- flyin/flyout
  • 7/7 rotation, Thursday to Thursday
  • 12hour day shifts

  • Flights includedfrom Edmonton and Calgary via Sunwest

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical maintenance and troubleshootingon NPI assets including camp facilities, utilities, lighting, and distribution systems.
  • Inspection, testing, and repairof electrical equipment in accordance with codes and Cenovus standards.
  • Support for Building Management Systems (BMS)including HVAC controls and alarms.
  • Assistance with automation and control systemsrelated to NPI infrastructure.
  • Fire alarm inspection and testingwith proper documentation.
  • SAP work order executionincluding notifications, updates, and time entry.
  • Collaboration with operations and contractorsto ensure safe and efficient work execution.
  • Participation in safety programs, hazard assessments, and continuous improvement.

Applicants must already hold the following certifications to be eligible for this position. If the successful candidate does not already possess these certifications, they will be required to obtain them at their own expense prior to commencing work.

General Certifications Required:

  1. Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  2. Electrician Journeyman Certificate

General Safety Certifications Required:

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP maintenance systemsfor work orders, notifications.
  • Building Management System (BMS) knowledge, including HVAC controls, alarms, and system optimization.
  • Exposure to automation and controls, such as PLC fundamentals or SCADA awareness.
  • Fire alarm system competency, including inspection, testing, and familiarity with common panels (EST, Notifier, Simplex).
  • Background in oil sands, SAGD, or remote industrial operations.
