Job Title: UAV Assembly Technician
Job Description

This role focuses on assembling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and related electro-mechanical systems for defense applications. You will build, wire, and test components and subassemblies using technical drawings and specifications, while working closely with engineers and team members in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electro-mechanical components and subassemblies according to blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Perform electrical wiring of UAV systems and components to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
  • Conduct functional testing of assembled products to verify performance and adherence to quality standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment to complete assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect incoming components and finished assemblies for defects, irregularities, or nonconformities, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional team members to resolve assembly issues and continuously improve processes.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning units, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Document assembly procedures, modifications, test results, and quality checks to ensure full traceability and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation, following all safety protocols and company guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic testing equipment for assembly and verification.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints, including virtual blueprints and digital drawings.
  • Competent computer skills to pull drawings, review documentation, and perform accurate data entry.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality, with the ability to identify and correct defects or irregularities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and team members to solve problems and improve processes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical certifications or relevant vocational training in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or a related field are preferred.
  • Experience with assembly in a warehouse or production environment is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with production workflows, quality control practices, and traceability requirements.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%–15% of the time for training or operational needs.

Work Environment

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work pattern. The facility operates in a start-up mode, with evolving processes, close-knit teams, and a strong focus on meeting future high delivery goals tied to key defense contracts. The role includes travel of about 10%–15%, including a required two-week training period abroad. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures while maintaining flexibility to adapt as the operation grows.
