Job description

To coordinate the activities of the administrative team in order to assist the supervisor in providing a high level of administrative support for the import or other departments, ensuring timely release and delivery of cargo and related forms processing and communication with the customer service team. Ensures timely payment of customs duties by collecting and submitting entry summary documentation. Determine priority and special processing requirements of transactions by reviewing instructions and/or communicating with customer service associates. Completes entry/release transaction processing by photocopying, assembling, and routing documents to U.S. Customs other government agencies, and carriers, and by assembling and distributing invoices. Ensures prompt movement of cargo by obtaining freight release and communicating with carriers. Ensures compliance with customs regulations by assembling entry summary documents and arranging for timely duty payment. Maintains physical and electronic transaction records by updating computer system with file status and notes, and by filing documents. Provides support for other team associates by identifying and completing more complex or urgent tasks. Provides assistance to supervisor by monitoring workload and workflow. Ensures a consistently high level of service by assisting in problem resolution, and by training other associates. Ensures regulatory compliance by reviewing and retaining training material and documentation provided by management, U.S. Customs, and other agencies, as well as any published procedures and guidelines. High school diploma/GED. Individual should be very organized and detail oriented, able to prioritize and manage a large amount of work documents. Should be able to move quickly between a number of tasks, reassigning priorities throughout the day. Should be able to work well under pressure. Should be very knowledgeable about customs entry assembly procedures and local practices, for obtaining carrier release and dispatching freight. Good communication skills needed to interface with other members of the team and department. Must be able to provide guidance to other associates, and to resolve or assist in resolving problems. HS Diploma or GED required. 6 months of brokerage or transportation experience and/or customer service experience preferred. MS Office, Outlook, Office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner) required. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Organizational Skills. Inter-personal skills. Problem solving Skills. Handle high volume of work. Handle time sensitive work. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Detail oriented. Knowledge in HTS classification & familiar with the harmonized tariff system. Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations & other federal regulations and requirements with respect to specific area of expertise. Paid Training Provided. Preferred Qualifications: This is a hybrid position. Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the currentstarting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factorspermitted by law.
