Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Client Accounting Services team. This is an elevated bookkeeping and accounting role that goes well beyond data entry - you will serve as a trusted financial partner to a portfolio of clients, owning the full-cycle accounting process and delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information. A CPA license or active candidacy is strongly preferred and will be given significant weight in the selection process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of clients, including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement; communicate findings clearly to clients
  • Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Coordinate with internal and external tax CPAs, and external auditors
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready client files and documentation
  • Proactively identify and communicate accounting issues or irregularities to senior team members
  • Stay current on changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and best practices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and client service delivery

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting or outsourced accounting environment
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar platforms)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strongly Preferred

  • Active CPA license or CPA candidate
  • Experience in a client-facing or outsourced accounting (CAS) environment
  • Familiarity with bill.com, Gusto, ADP, or similar platforms
