As an AV Technician / Installer at Hoishik, you will be responsible for delivering high-end audio, video, and smart home technology solutions in luxury residences. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills, as you will often be the face of the company in client homes.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure AV systems including Crestron control, Crestron NAX/NVX systems, Sonos, HEOS, and Ubiquiti/Unifi networks.
  • Perform rack builds, equipment terminations, and structured wiring (network, AV, fiber optic, coax, speaker).
  • Mount and calibrate TVs, projectors, and speakers, including high-performance solutions (James, Sonance, Meyer Sound).
  • Integrate and test systems for whole-house audio/video distribution, home theaters, and network-connected devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues across AV, networking, and control platforms.
  • Collaborate with electricians and IT specialists to ensure proper system installation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installations (as-builts, wiring diagrams, labeling).
  • Provide on-site customer training and ensure a clean, professional work environment.
Requirements:

Skills & Qualifications


  • 2+ years of AV installation experience (residential or commercial, high-end residential preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Crestron systems (programming knowledge a plus, but not required).
  • Familiarity with Ubiquiti Unifi networking and Meraki systems.
  • Experience with rack building, terminations, and structured cabling (Cat6, fiber, speaker).
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across AV and network systems.
  • Comfortable with ladders, power tools, and physical installation work.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.


Work Environment


  • Work takes place at client job sites, Hoishikโ€™s office/shop, and occasionally from home for system prep or documentation.
  • Standard hours are 9:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM, but flexibility for after-hours support may be required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).
