Tyler Technologies is seeking an experienced Release Manager to lead the planning, coordination, governance, and execution of software releases for the ERP Pro product suite. This role is critical to the success of our Cloud Living strategy and is responsible for ensuring predictable, high-quality, and on-time delivery of product capabilities across cloud and on-premises environments.

The Release Manager drives release readiness, cross-functional coordination, accountability for delivery commitments, feature flag governance, and release risk management across Product, Development, QA, Technical Services, Support, and Professional Services.

Responsibilities:

Release Planning & Governance

  • Develop and manage release plans, schedules, milestones, and readiness criteria.
  • Coordinate release activities across Product, Development, QA, Technical Services, Support, and Professional Services.
  • Drive accountability for release commitments, dependencies, ownership, and delivery timelines.
  • Identify, manage, and communicate release risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies.

Cloud Living Enablement

  • Support Cloud Living objectives through predictable, coordinated, and high-quality release execution.
  • Own governance of feature flags and feature activation strategies, including introduction, activation, monitoring, and retirement.
  • Ensure all release commitments have identified owners, target dates, activation plans, and retirement plans prior to release approval.
  • Partner with engineering and product leadership to improve release predictability, delivery discipline, and cloud adoption.

Release Execution & Readiness

  • Lead the end-to-end release lifecycle, including planning, readiness reviews, deployment coordination, validation, communication, and post-release activities.
  • Facilitate release go/no-go decisions using established readiness criteria and risk assessments.
  • Ensure releases meet quality, security, operational readiness, support readiness, and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate contingency planning, rollback procedures, and production deployment activities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for release-related communication and stakeholder alignment.
  • Provide clear reporting on release scope, status, risks, dependencies, and readiness.
  • Track and report release metrics including release predictability, deployment success rate, cycle time, and feature flag retirement metrics.
  • Conduct post-release reviews and drive process improvements that increase delivery effectiveness and reduce release risk.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Release Management, Program Management, Product Delivery, Software Development, DevOps, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing complex software releases across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD concepts, and modern software delivery models.
  • Experience supporting SaaS, cloud-hosted, or cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and influence teams without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
