Job description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings (BAH) is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support our government customer located in Arlington, Virginia.

We are seeking a talented Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with a minimum of five years of experience in the implementation and maintenance of Splunk enterprise monitoring and observability platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep infrastructure expertise and a proven track record managing Splunk, ACAS, and Trellix environments. In this role, the new hire will be responsible for optimizing data ingestion pipelines and designing advanced security and operational monitoring solutions that support mission-critical systems across the enterprise.

This position is 100% on site.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for optimizing data ingestion pipelines and designing advanced security and operational monitoring solutions that support mission-critical systems across the enterprise.
  • Responsible for supporting the operations of cybersecurity personnel, applications, and appliances employed to defend the cyber terrain, to include but not limited to:
  • Firewall management
  • Host intrusion detection/prevention systems management
  • Security information and event management (SIEM, e.g. audit log review and analysis)
  • Vulnerability scanning
  • Incident response
  • Technical analysis & troubleshooting assistance
  • Support the agency with project tracking with the integrated master schedule
  • Project presentations to the agency change boards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Degree/Education/Certification
  • Bachelor of Science in computer science or related field or six to ten (6-10) years of experience in the cybersecurity field.
  • Required to be certified IAT level III (CASP, CCNP, CISA, CISSP)
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience with HBSS/EPO/Trellix/ESS or Tenable/ACAS/Nessus.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the implementation and maintenance of Splunk enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems engineering, systems security operations, incident response methodologies, general user behavior analytics, and general personnel management.
  • Powershell & Bash experience

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Varonis - experience with deploying & upgrading the application

  • Demonstrated experience managing Splunk, ACAS, and Trellix environments.
Required Citizenship and Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must have an active Top Secret-SCI clearance.
