About Our Practice

We are a busy, growing Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialty practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance regulations, claims management, and collections.
Position Summary
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the revenue cycle, including claim submission, payment posting, denial management, insurance follow-up, and patient account resolution. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for services rendered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Submit electronic and paper claims accurately and timely.
  • Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments.
  • Follow up with commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, Medicaid, and Workers' Compensation carriers.
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed.
  • Post insurance and patient payments.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs).
  • Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation.
  • Monitor aging reports and work accounts receivable.
  • Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions and payment arrangements.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations.
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
  • Assist with revenue cycle reporting and performance metrics.
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
  • Familiarity with claim appeals and denial management.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
