Job Summary:

Red Rocks Community College seeks a Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management to provide forward-looking vision, leadership, and direction for the College’s strategic enrollment management efforts. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Dean will establish a clear vision, identify opportunities for sustainable enrollment growth, and lead the development and execution of coordinated strategies that serve the College’s distinct student populations and enrollment pathways. These efforts will advance recruitment and onboarding, retention, completion, transfer, and career or workforce placement.

Working across the College, the Dean uses enrollment data, forecasting, and assessment to establish priorities, guide decisions, and improve outcomes. The Dean leads and coordinates enrollment management activities, monitors progress toward enrollment and retention goals, and works with campus partners to strengthen recruitment, onboarding, registration, and student support practices. The Dean also provides strategic and operational leadership for assigned functions, setting clear priorities and ensuring that teams, resources, and services are aligned with institutional goals.

As a senior college leader, the Dean builds strong partnerships across the College and with K–12 districts, community organizations, government entities, and workforce and industry partners. The Dean leads and develops directors and their teams, promotes accountability and operational excellence, oversees departmental resources, and provides executive leadership with clear analysis and recommendations related to enrollment trends, student success, and emerging opportunities.

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strategic vision and strong execution: The ability to develop a compelling enrollment management vision, translate it into clear priorities and measurable strategies, and successfully lead implementation within assigned teams and across the College.
  • Collaborative and influential leadership: The ability to build trusted relationships, communicate effectively with varied audiences, and bring departments and divisions together around shared enrollment and student success goals.
  • Data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement: The ability to interpret enrollment and student success information, identify opportunities, communicate meaningful insights, and use evidence to improve strategies, services, and institutional outcomes.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of strategic enrollment management principles, practices, and trends in higher education.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, both verbal and written, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with many types of individuals.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment,
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments, divisions of the College, and external partners.
  • Problem solving skills include the ability to find innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in student development, higher education, counseling, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of significant administrative experience in strategic enrollment management, admissions, student affairs, business administration, sales, or marketing.
  • Supervisory experience with higher education staff at a director's level or above.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing enrollment data.
  • Experience using enrollment and student success data to support student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
  • Knowledge of effective student onboarding strategies and practices.
  • Understanding of enrollment management fundamentals and application and knowledge of FERPA and federal and state policies impacting college admissions, recruiting, registration, and student records management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including supervisory and budgetary responsibilities in student services.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds and evidence of a commitment to creating an inclusive learning and work environment.
  • Experience in assessment and program development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a higher education or related field.
  • Community college administrative experience.
  • Experience with Banner or related student information technologies & systems.

Physical & Cognitive Demands

The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
  • May require hours outside of regular office hours. May require work at both campuses. May require travel between campuses.

Starting Salary

Starting salary range for this position is $110,658 to $121,724 annually, commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
