Summary
Job Title: Benefits Enrollment Clerk
Department: Ho-Chunk Corporate Services
Reports to: Benefits Manager
Location: Winnebago, NE
Status: Non-Exempt
WC: 8810-NE
Summary
Maintains employee group insurance, retirement, and FSA enrollment records. Will manage employees' calls pertaining to enrollment documents. Will be responsible for maintaining all "confidential" employee files associated with enrollment documents. Performs data entry tasks along with a variety of employee enrollment responsibilities. Must be able to exercise good judgment, empathy and discretion and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Works closely with HR and Payroll during open enrollment, new eligible enrollments, terminations and qualifying events.
  • Assists with verification and processes all plan enrollment forms.
  • Refers employee enrollments inquiries and complaints to corporate Benefits Assistant or Bellevue Benefits Specialist to ensure quick, courteous resolution.
  • Refers complicated matters to the Benefits Administrator.
  • Mails enrollment confirmation and plan documents to employees in a timely manner.
  • Assists with processing all enrollment document and status changes with vendors and Payroll to include COBRA notification and any related data entry.
  • Sends out any communications and materials in preparation for enrollment in employee benefits.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all employee information.
  • Maintains the timely and organized filing of group benefit enrollment files.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel
Local travel to various worksites is required.
Experience
  • Good telephone skills and customer service.
  • Ability to work extended hours when required.
  • Must have both oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent organizational and filing skills.
  • Requires excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Occasional overnight travel is required to attend trainings, conferences and seminars, and to assist with large onboarding.
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years' experience in the field of employee benefits or related clerical experience.
  • One year experience in data entry.
  • Basic math skills to verify benefits rates and deductions.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS office (especially Excel and Word) and HRIS.

Education
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Job related college credit/hours or Associates Degree preferred.
