Job description

Administrative Technician (Open)

As an Administrative Technician for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), you'll help support Nebraska Medicaid providers and Trading Partners with electronic transactions and access to Medicaid systems. You will assist with enrolling Trading Partners and providers for electronic transactions, including X12 transactions, manage external user access to the Medicaid provider website, and help customers navigate questions related to EDI services. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, enjoys helping others, and is comfortable working with established processes and computer systems in a team environment.

Job Duties

  • Manage user access to the Medicaid provider website, including adding, updating, and removing external users.
  • Conduct routine audits of external user accounts to ensure access remains accurate and appropriate.
  • Process and maintain Trading Partner and provider information related to electronic transaction submissions.
  • Assist Trading Partners with enrollment and setup to conduct X12 electronic transactions with Nebraska Medicaid.
  • Assist providers with enrollment and setup for electronic transactions.
  • Develop an understanding of X12 electronic transactions and assist with reviewing transaction information as needed.
  • Respond to questions from providers and Trading Partners regarding electronic transaction enrollment, access, and submission processes and requirements.
  • Provide customer service and assistance by telephone and email.
  • Research and resolve routine issues related to website access and electronic transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to user access and Trading Partner enrollment.
  • Assist with provider and Trading Partner outreach, updates, and other EDI-related activities as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service while consistently demonstrating DHHS values and core competencies.
  • Ensure compliance with department policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
