Starting Annual Salary: $55,265.60 Six months after hire date (4% merit increase): $57,470.40 12 months after hire date upon completion of probation (911 Professional II): $59,779.20 Top of the 911 Professional II salary range (4% annual merit increases): $88,150.40 Definition Incumbents perform a variety of complex duties involved in the receipt and processing of emergency 9-1-1 and non-emergency police calls for the area served by LVMPD. Possession of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Be a citizen/naturalized citizen or permanent resident alien without conditions on status of the United States of America by the date of the first test instrument. Be at least 18 years old by the date of the first test instrument.
One year of work experience is desirable. Best Candidates Will Have a good work ethic. Have Microsoft OS and PC keyboard experience.

Conditions of Employment In addition to the General Conditions of Employment, found here, the following specific conditions of employment and physical conditions apply to this position. Personal Appearance: While on duty, and/or representing the Department, uniformed or otherwise, all Department employees will be neat and clean in their appearance in public. Employees are prohibited from attaching, affixing, or displaying objects, articles or jewelry on or through the nose, tongue, eyebrow or other exposed body part, except the ears for females, while on duty.
Employees are prohibited from stretching or "gauging" their earlobes. All jewelry implants will not be exposed or visible while on duty. Tattoos or branding will not be exposed or visible while on duty and/or representing the Department.
Such markings must be covered by clothing. Markings that cannot be covered by clothing will be covered using neutral-toned bandages or patches except for hands, neck, head, or face tattoos. Makeup is not permissible to cover a tattoo.
Tattoos or branding anywhere on the body that promote racism/discrimination, indecency, extremist or supremacist philosophies, lawlessness, violence, or contain sexually explicit material are prohibited. Participate in the LVMPD Mental Wellness Program. Incumbents are required to work any assigned shift and day, including holidays, upon short notice if necessary.
Classroom and call center environment; noisy distractions from multiple employees conversing over headsets; work with computers in varying light conditions. Vision sufficient to read the computer screen, as well as fine prints in documents. Speech and hearing sufficient to carry on conversations using a headset, in person, and over the telephone.
Vision and hearing sufficient to multi-task. Dexterity and mobility sufficient to repetitively use a computer keyboard and mouse as well as assigned equipment. Endurance sufficient to sit for long periods of time, as necessary.

If you take and pass CritiCall for this process and re-apply for this position or another LVMPD position that requires CritiCall within 18 months, your CritiCall score will be applied to those processes. Exam Information You will receive an email no later than 5:00 pm (PST) on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 with instructions to participate in the online CritiCall exam.

If you reserve a computer at the library, please make sure to bring headphones.
