Job description

Find where your passion meets God's purpose.

Volunteers can train to use WhatsApp and Zoom to be part of an English learning group. They don't have to be an English teacher! Volunteers can join existing English groups with young people from around the world and simply discuss a topic or just chat and help these young people with things like pronunciation or sentence structure. You can partner with someone with experience to see how this functions.

The time commitment depends on the availability and interest of the Volunteer. Some people have time to dedicate to this every day. Others just once or twice a week for half an hour. We welcome volunteers that can participate with reasonable regularity, whenever it is they join an online group, to maintain some degree of consistency with our English students.

A volunteer should have the desire to see people, particularly from parts of the world without much or any Christian witness, have an opportunity to discover the message of salvation in Christ Jesus.

A friendly and gracious demeanor goes a long way in building trusting friendships with the young people we encounter. Also, having a clear understanding of the basic Gospel message is essential. When Jesus called us fishers of men, that describes exactly our intention: to throw out Gospel bait and look for the nibbles on the line to find people who are open to learning about the Lord.

We would be honored to connect and help you explore the right area to serve. We have personal Ministry Guides who will journey with you to help you find your sweet spot of service.

  • How has He shaped you, and why has He shaped your life that way?

Here at Timberline Church, it is our firm conviction that a call to serve is inherent in the invitation to follow Jesus. Understanding who God made you to be, will help you discover what He's called you to do. Take the S.H.A.P.E. Assessment below to start the journey!
