Job Title: Senior Product Engineer โ€“ HVAC/R Tools & Equipment (Electrical/Mechanical)
Location: Bloomington, MN โ€“ On-site (4โ€‘day work week, Monโ€“Thu, 10โ€‘hour shifts)

Tasks

What You Will Be Doing:

Senior Engineers will lead the planning, design, and development of tools, machines, and accessory products for the HVAC/R markets โ€“ both for new product introduction and improving on current designs โ€“ with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions and decisions, generally involving the largest and most important work on projects.

  • Leads other engineers in the design of individual tools and machines, including acting as the lead on some projects.
  • Evaluates the progress and results of projects they lead.
  • Owns projectโ€‘level goals involving multiple engineers and helps to break down ambiguous tasks into smaller units, establishing clear milestones for progress measurement.
  • Mentors Engineer I, II, and IIIs on their projects, coaching them through complex issues and problems.
  • Provides technical leadership, bringing design concepts to production solutions as the subject matter expert in their area.
  • Supports department goals by designing test plans and performing testing.
  • Provides advanced production line support.
  • Develops product specifications for new product ideas.
  • Works with vendors to ensure accurate component specifications and dimensional requirements are met upon receipt.
  • Supports new production development reporting on work completed at department, new product, and stageโ€‘gate meetings.
  • Transforms initial rough product designs into working productionโ€‘ready documents.
  • Updates released production documentation utilizing documented change processes.
  • Develops Bills of Materials that will be entered into the business system using an ECM Process.
  • Responsible for interviews, selection, onboarding, time approval, timeโ€‘off calendar management, performance reviews, and addressing performance concerns of up to two direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned, including training others on known processes.
Requirements

What You Will Bring (Required):

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years of progressively demanding experience in new product design.
  • Understanding of the new product development process.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to an audience in a presentation setting.
  • Knowledge of lean principles.
  • 3D CAD knowledge.
  • Electrical: Experience with lowโ€‘voltage printed circuit board assembly (PCBA).
  • Electrical: Experience with circuit design.
  • Electrical: Experience with electronic design automation (EDA) software.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
  • Highly organized, selfโ€‘motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and perform multiple tasks in a fastโ€‘paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred:

  • Infor ERP experience.
  • EPA 608 Certification.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • DBWorks or Enterprise PDM experience.
  • Electrical: Experience with EDA library setup.
  • Electrical: Design experience using Bluetooth communication.
  • Electrical: HVAC sensor experience (e.g., pressure, temperature, etc.).

This role works onโ€‘site in Bloomington, MN, where your direct contributions will make a real impact. Being in person will allow you to collaborate closely with others, build meaningful relationships, and play a key role in our companyโ€™s success.

Schedule: Enjoy a 4โ€‘day work week, 10 hours a day (Mondayโ€“Thursday, between 6:00am and 6:00pm). Additional hours may be required during busier times.
