SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Candidate will work with the production facilities to improve the operational efficiency of the BDS blow molding machinery by assisting in rebuilding and upgrading existing machines as well as upgrading and streamlining the technology where applicable.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and direct capital projects and machine rebuild.
Assist with hands on installation, replacement, or repair of electrical and mechanical machine components.
Assist with identifying and overcoming machine issues using problem solving skills.
Read and develop engineering drawings as well as electrical schematics to diagnose problems and develop solutions for equipment issues.
Troubleshooting equipment and systems after their installation
Support engineering team with designing layouts of systems and equipment.
Installing new systems or equipment
Training maintenance employees on the maintenance of installed systems and equipment
Understanding blueprints and schematics to correctly install a system or piece of equipment
Helping engineers develop new methods or products.
Communicating with customers and vendors about new systems and equipment and how to operate them.
Suggesting improvements in work processes to increase efficiencies.
Mentoring maintenance and technical team members.
Communicate progress of assigned projects to the plant team with supporting documents.

EXPERIENCE
Required:
Good mechanical and electrical skills.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
PLC knowledge.
Problem solving skills.
Self-starter - can work unsupervised.
Familiarity with plastics and plastics processing a plus. Ability to learn plastics blow molding processing a must.
