Job description

Summary:
The engineering technician serves a supporting role within the Research & Development team. The primary focus is hands-on execution of project tasks. The activities frequently change on a day to day basis, dependent upon the product development phase. Primary activities will involve supporting R&D Engineers during the development and evaluation of prototype products, test devices, and production tooling and processes. The technician is expected to be able to contribute in the troubleshooting of issues that arise during any of the development phases.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute hands-on tasks assigned by Engineering Team
  • Assist in the design and implementation of experiments to evaluate prototype products and processes.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to brainstorm, fabricate, and test prototype products & processes.
  • Document fabrication techniques and quality testing methods for training and transfer of development products and processes.
  • Assist with the transition from development to manufacturing by providing training to production personnel on new products and processes general housekeeping of work areas.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to document and communicate information effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating manual machine shop equipment.
  • Experience with metal fabrication equipment.
  • Experience with mold fabrication and mold processing.
  • Familiarity with thermoplastic, thermoset resin, or elastomer materials.
  • Previous experience supporting engineering, product development, manufacturing, or technical projects.
