Job description

The Engineering Acceleration team at Roblox delivers a world-class internal engineering experience to the 2,000+ engineers who write, build, and ship the most incredible platform for creativity in the world. The Foundations pod owns the systems at the heart of how Roblox builds software: source control, code search, code review, artifact management, continuous integration, and cloud development environments.

As the Engineering Manager for the pod, you will lead a growing team of 6 engineers responsible for these critical engineering tools. You will own both the day-to-day operational excellence of our core engineering infrastructure and the strategy to scale these systems for AI-powered development. This is an impactful role supporting the entire company; it is ideal for a people-first leader energized by operational ownership who cares deeply about the engineering experience.

You Will:

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of world-class engineers, hiring, onboarding, regular 1:1s, performance, and active career development that supports each engineer's growth at Roblox.
  • Own the reliability and operational health of Tier 0 infrastructure, including GitHub (Enterprise & Cloud), Artifactory, Sourcegraph, GitHub Actions, the CI runner fleet, and cloud development environments.
  • Develop deep cross-functional partnerships across the company, supporting all engineering groups and roles. Interact directly with your customers day in and day out.ย ย
  • Define and drive the roadmap, balancing operational excellence with strategic investments in automation, modernization, and AI-integrated workflows.
  • Champion data-driven priorities, such as CI/CD success rates, PR cycle times, and engineer satisfaction, while regularly communicating productivity insights to leadership.

You Have:ย

  • 3+ years managing or leading engineering teams, on top of a strong individual-contributor engineering background (BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience).
  • A track record of owning and delivering developer-facing or infrastructure systems at scale.
  • Strong working knowledge of source control and CI infrastructure; experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, or Sourcegraph is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with common cloud and container technologies like AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Hashistack (Nomad, Vault, Terraform).
  • Demonstrated operational leadership: incident response, sustainable on-call, and a reliability- and compliance-minded approach to critical systems.
  • A proven ability to hire, grow, and retain engineers, and to coach their career development.

You Are:ย

  • Passionate about every engineer's daily experience, informed by deep technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset.
  • A calm, decisive operational leader who works well with whatever comes their way.
  • A thoughtful manager and strong communicator who champions the personal and professional growth of their team.

Bonus Points

  • Experience scaling or migrating git, artifact systems, CI platforms, or cloud development environments.
  • Hands-on experience bringing LLM-powered tooling into engineering workflows.
  • Background partnering on secure SDLC, artifact hygiene, and modern compliance practices.
