Job description

Overview

Design and contribute to current and new product development utilizing engineering software, testing, & documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Research & Development process through testing, installation and documentation.
  • Contribute to engineering & manufacturing procedures.
  • Operate CAD system program software to produces clear and technically accurate drawings based on design specifications.
  • Design and contribute to current and new product development utilizing engineering software, testing, & documentation.
  • Utilize engineering software to create drawings, assemblies, analysis, etc. of parts, assemblies, etc.
  • Evaluate design drawings for new or changed tools by measuring dimensions on the drawings and comparing them with the original specifications
  • Prepare layouts and drawings of parts to be made and of the process for putting the parts together, often using three-dimensional design software
  • Contribute to the development of further engineering and manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • Review instructions and blueprints for projects in order to ensure that test specifications and procedures are followed and objectives are met.
  • Plan, produce, and assemble new or changed mechanical parts for products, such as industrial machinery or equipment.
  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units and their components, and record results.
  • Compare test results with design specifications and with test objectives and make recommendations for changes in products or in test methods.
  • Estimate labor costs, equipment life, and plant space.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Mid-level computer skills required; Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
  • 2D & 3D Computer Aided Drafting - Autodesk or comparable software knowledge required
  • Basic blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of Drafting and Dimensioning principals
  • Practical Knowledge of hand tools and construction methods
  • Willingness to work in shop environment as well as office environment.
