Job description

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting plant equipment and facility operations through engineering activities, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role works closely with maintenance technicians and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Engineering Support

  • Perform maintenance tasks including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and engineering support

  • Support technicians by understanding and operating equipment and manufacturing processes

  • Diagnose equipment breakdowns and collect operational data for analysis

  • Control maintenance tools, spare parts, and equipment components

Process Improvement & Reliability

  • Improve production equipment reliability and reduce downtime

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance plant safety and performance

  • Support engineering design improvements and problem-solving initiatives

Project & Operations Management

  • Lead and support maintenance-related projects and assignments

  • Manage timelines and ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines

  • Coordinate with internal teams for daily maintenance activities and improvements

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record and summarize maintenance work results and outcomes

  • Prepare reports, manuals, training materials, and procurement documentation

  • Utilize CMMS and related systems (including AutoCAD) for work orders and documentation

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform daily safety assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards

  • Participate in emergency repairs and unplanned maintenance activities

  • Contribute to achieving KPIs such as downtime reduction, safety, and quality improvements

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred

  • 3โ€“6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required

  • Alternatively, 2-year technical degree with 3+ years of relevant maintenance or equipment engineering experience

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Korean & English (required)

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Knowledge of mechanical design, components, and engineering principles

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, symbols, and perform basic calculations

  • AutoCAD experience (3+ years required)

  • Proficient in MS Office and general computer systems

  • Strong teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills
