This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering firm serving primarily commercial clients. Projects primarily include wood-framed buildings, with additional exposure to concrete, steel, masonry, and light-gauge steel structures.

This is an in-office position, providing close collaboration with internal team members and direct interaction with project stakeholders. In this role, you will work closely with both internal teams and external clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Job Duties

In this position, you will:

  • Lead small project teams (EITs and Revit designers) in the development of structural construction drawings and calculation packages for commercial buildings and structures.
  • Interact directly with architects, owners, contractors, plan reviewers, and other engineering disciplines to develop effective project solutions.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.

You will provide structural engineering services across all phases of commercial projects, including design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration. You may also assist with proposals for new projects.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in wood-frame buildings and concrete foundations. Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and/or light-gauge steel construction is also beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of construction drawings and oversee internal project teams.
  • Perform structural analysis and calculations for building projects.
  • Support the full project lifecycle, including design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • Help maintain quality standards, project schedules, and budgets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • 4+ years of experience. P.E or S.E. preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with internal team members and commercial clients.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Familiarity with BIM concepts and Revit (preferred).
  • Familiarity with BlueBeam/PDF software.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software such as EnerCalc, RAM/Bentley Suite, and Hilti Profis.
  • Ability to use common office software (Outlook, Teams, Word Excel, time-tracking tools).
