Systems Engineer - Columbia

Bestgate is hiring a Systems Engineer to join an exciting mission centered around providing visualization and presentation services for the prototyping, development, and production of analytic tools. In this critical role, you will drive the successful migration of business data from legacy systems to a new, modernized platform. Working alongside a small, collaborative team, you will provide impactful contributions to a supportive customer by reverse engineering 40 existing databases to create a streamlined, universal model database. Your work will directly ensure that complex data can be sorted, found, and analyzed efficiently.

Required Skills
  • 20+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (OR 25+ years of experience without a degree).
  • Proven experience with database design and data modeling.
  • Strong proficiency utilizing SQL within relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, Postgres).
  • Hands-on experience reverse engineering systems in both front-end and back-end capacities.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and visualization.
  • Expertise in data normalization, data cleansing, and data security best practices.
Desired Skills
  • Extensive experience working with Oracle.
  • Knowledge and understanding of existing BM&A systems.
