Job description

We are looking for:
An I&E Technician journeyman to perform maintenance on plant instrument and electrical equipment and systems in accordance with safety, health, & environmental policies. Maintains and repairs electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation for process control, including PLC's, analyzers, and Distributed Control Systems.
We can count on you to:
  • Ensure Syensqo safety and IH procedures are being implemented.
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot three-phase medium and low voltage power distribution including transformers, switchgear, motors, variable frequency drives and other electronic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot digital control systems, I/P systems, control valves, flow meters, temperature & pressure transmitters, and burner safety management systems.
  • Install, test and edit programs for programmable logic controllers (PLC) in order to set up interlocks and alarms; to shut down or startup equipment; and to read, record, and transfer digital and/or analog data.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
  • Utilize all types of industrial shop and portable tools safely and effectively.
  • Skilled in basic equipment rigging, hoist usage, crane operations, and fork lift operations.
  • Read and understand instrument & electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Complete required written documentation regarding instrument & electrical equipment and systems.
  • Active involvement in achieving department and site wide goals in safety, environmental compliance, reliability, quality and cost control.
  • Participate in safety meetings, JHA's, HAZOP's, and incident investigations.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with ISO 9001 and quality related plant safety certification requirements.
  • Prepare equipment for safe maintenance operations - compete safe work permits as required
  • Monitor and operate all Safety, Environmental and fire related equipment including monitoring equipment and alarms initiating emergency response notification as required
  • Actively advance knowledge and skills in instrument & electrical competencies.
  • Follow directions and work independently.
  • Complete all auxiliary duties assigned by supervision.

  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years of I&E journeyman maintenance experience within an Industrial chemical or manufacturing environment, Or 3+ years of I&E journeyman maintenance experience with a 2 year Technical degree
  • Packaging I&E maintenance experience is a plus
  • Good oral and written communication
  • TWIC requirement
