Job description

As an IT Senior Program Manager at TAB Bank, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the successful execution of technology portfolio initiatives leveraging lean portfolio management, project management, and Agile methodologies. This role facilitates strategic planning, IT resource management, and ensures that IT initiatives align with business objectives. The IT Program Manager coordinates objectives, efforts, and outcomes across technology shared services teams (Information Security, IT Operations, Service Desk, and DevOps) while supporting Agile practices where possible to foster flexibility, collaboration, and continuous improvement. They act as the key liaison between stakeholders, IT teams, and business ARTs to ensure initiative goals are met efficiently and effectively. A strong background in both Agile frameworks and traditional project management methodologies, along with leadership and technical acumen, is essential for driving the successful delivery of complex IT programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Facilitate and Coordinate

· Collaborate with technical teams to understand technology objectives, requirements, technical constraints, architectural and technical design, and execution plans.

· Ensure that ART stakeholders and/or interdependent ART needs align on priorities, timelines, and resources.

· Facilitate quarterly demos that highlight activity across the technology ecosystem.

· Support teams to ensure work efforts are visible, managed, and aligned with company strategies.

· Ensure work initiatives are understood, transparent, and achieved across teams.

· Monitor and Report Progress

· Track progress, performance, and success metrics related to portfolio delivery as well as minor enhancements and maintenance efforts.

· Coordinate with product managers, product owners, and developers to ensure that solutions are delivered on time and within scope.

· Monitor project progress, adjust plans and work flows as needed, and address any risks or challenges.

· Optimize Value Delivery

· Facilitate the completion of business cases for large and/or complex roadmap initiatives in partnership with business and IT resources.

· Coordinate roadmap planning activities to ensure portfolio initiatives are documented, understood, and ranked according to the company methodology. This includes facilitating quarterly updates, scorecard reviews, and participating in technology strategic planning processes.

· Manage the IT initiative intake process to formally

ingest portfolio needs from technology teams and guide activities post-ideation through implementation and maintenance.

· Facilitate cross-portfolio syncs and maintain strong communication channels into business ARTs to ensure technology teams are aware of and managing to ART enablement requirements.

· Present clear portfolio roadmaps, strategic plans, and status updates to executives and other stakeholders.

· Manage Risk

· Identify, track, and manage risks and interdependencies to ensure work efforts prevent delays or misalignment with strategic goals.

· Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, technical leads, architecture leads, and other stakeholders to address and resolve conflicts and bottlenecks.

· Stay Current with Technology Trends

· Continuously expand personal knowledge of emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

· Support Product Owners and Agile teams with Agile best practices and applicable SAFe methodologies.

· Provide training and mentorship to foster growth and maturity within the ART, helping teams reach high levels of Agile competency.

· Other duties as assigned

Required education and experience:

· 5 years experience in planning and delivery of enterprise banking or financial services software

· 5+ years of experience managing complex, large-scale IT programs, ideally in both Agile and traditional project environments

· Proven experience working with Agile teams, including at least 3 years in an Agile leadership or Scrum Master role.

· Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives or large-scale system upgrades.

· Experience collaborating with senior business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to align project deliverables with organizational goals.

· Relevant certifications in project management or Agile frameworks (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, CPO, POPM, SSM, ASM)

· Proven experience working with agile teams, including at least 1 year of experience in Agile leadership (Product Owner, Scrum Master, Product Manager or Release Train Engineer) role.

· Relevant certifications in project management or Agile frameworks (e.g., PMI-ACP, CSM, CPO)

· Understanding of IT infrastructure, software development processes and modern technologies sufficient to effectively coach and facilitate technical teams and projects.

· Experience in driving timely, value-driven and sustainable team product delivery in cadence.

Preferred education and experience:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent practical experience).

· Three or more relevant advanced level certifications in SAFe, Agile frameworks, and project management (e.g., PMI-ACP, CSM, CPO, POPM, SSM, ASM, LPM, APM, SPC – with SAFe POPM, ASM, LPM, APM or SPC preferred)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholder expectations, resolve conflicts, and align business objectives with IT deliverables.

· Solid experience and familiarity with common backend office tool suites (Microsoft Office preferred)

· Solid Agile product and software lifecycle management tools experience and proficiency (e.g. – Jira, Confluence, Basecamp, OpenProject, Rally, Monday, Trello, Asana, etc.)
