InterAgency, Inc. is a small, growing environmental consultancy with a national profile. We provide planning, environmental consulting, and regulatory coordination for large-scale infrastructure and resiliency programs in the DC metro area. Our goal is to facilitate major climate change initiatives and enhance our local community.
Description: InterAgency, Inc. is seeking a mid-career/senior architect who is looking to transition their career away from buildings and into resiliency projects. The successful candidate will help lead InterAgency’s planning efforts for clean water infrastructure implementation. Responsibilities include client management, planning, scheduling, regulatory coordination, permitting, and construction administration. Candidates must be self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage all aspects of a project.
Resiliency and climate change work has historically been the purview of engineers. At InterAgency, we have proved that a group of environmental scientists, planners, and architects can contribute meaningfully to these programs. The successful candidate is a senior manager—someone with the gravitas to speak to large groups and present information in a succinct manner. The ability to craft concise email and prepare presentation materials is essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all phases of water pipe design and implementation, ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Act as client interface.
  • Review design drawings for accuracy and implementation.
  • Supervise the work of engineering team members.
  • Understand and speak to project schedules.
  • Develop and execute strategies to expedite a project’s implementation.
  • Manage the permitting process with DC DOB, DOEE, and DDOT.
  • Maintain project files.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or engineering.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in an architectural/engineering.

Employment Conditions:
  • Full-time, exempt employment.
  • Work conditions & location: Hybrid - Will work on-site at client location three (3) or more days per week.
  • Hours: regular business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 PM (EST).

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this position is determined based on a combination of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and applicable licenses.
