Intralox LLC, a division of Laitram LLC, has a position available for a Project Manager who will work in our New Orleans office within New Products Development, focusing on research and analysis, directly interfacing with a group of scientists focused on bringing specialized skills to our New Product Development teams. This unique role combines project management expertise with scientific research to develop business cases, prioritize research initiatives, and coordinate operations across multiple technical domains including Software Development, Structural Analysis (Strength, Vibration, Acoustics), and Test Lab operations.
This role is accountable for accurate and clear representation of stakeholder needs. The candidate must be able to tell the customer's story and work with subject matter experts to deliver both the compelling message behind the ask to your team and the final deliverable to the stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Develop business cases and strategic plans for research initiatives across Software Development, Structural Analysis (Strength, Vibration, Acoustics), and Test Lab operations.
  • Prioritize projects and resources with research and engineering teams, balancing technical feasibility, customer impact, and business value.
  • Coordinate project and operations management across teams, including timelines, dependencies, risk management, and escalation paths.
  • Lead cross-functional execution from concept through delivery of final products and outcomes to customers.
  • Aggregate technical and project data into clear summary reports with recommendations that guide team delivery decisions.
  • Organize and maintain project documentation, decisions, and status artifacts to support alignment, traceability, and knowledge transfer.
  • Build and maintain research roadmaps aligned to organizational goals, partner projects, and funding priorities.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and support continuous improvement in research operations.
  • Develop our SharePoint communication site to provide user access to historical research.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management, program management, or technical leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience developing business cases and strategic plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (Critical Path, Agile, Waterfall, Kanban, etc.).
  • Self-directed with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work at our office (Greater New Orleans) collaboratively across diverse teams focused on engineering, product testing, and manufacturing.
Preferences:
  • Experience in research and development environments, particularly in product development.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis methods (FEA, vibration analysis, acoustics) or software development lifecycles.
  • Background in test lab operations or experimental design.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with portfolio management and resource optimization.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Python, R).
