Project Manager

Asplundh Engineering Services provides superior, full service professional engineering, engineering support, equipment procurement, and automation controls integration—from planning and design to implementation and commissioning.  AES-Ambler’s in-house panel shop allows custom control design/build manufacturing.  We have been delivering reliable design of complex electrical systems for over 20 years and are a pioneer in the development of engineering and controls automation.
Job Type: Full-Time +, Exempt 
Pay: Competitive, Salary 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 
  • Manage multiple projects with varying team members 
  • Work with Clients, Business Development Staff, Managers, and Engineers to coordinate project designs 
  • Work with existing clients and new prospects to identify business opportunities 
  • Prepare engineering, equipment, and EPC proposals and fee estimates 
  • Prepare management reports for internal and external use 
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and personnel 
  • Provide technical insight for alternate solutions to projects and project execution 
  • Utilize basic engineering principles and practical design solutions for scope development 
  • Quality control of projects managed and peer review if required 
  • Manage billing of projects and coordinate with AP/AR 
  • Time management to deliver projects on time and within budget 
  • Work with sub-consultant(s) to coordinate trades 
  • Attend job meetings & coordinate activities as required 
  • Attend training to further enhance your duties 
  • Attend professional conferences and trade shows 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned 
  • Overnight Business Travel at times may be required 
  • Complete and submit weekly paperwork (e.g. Timesheets, Expense Reports, etc.) 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older 
  • Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Outstanding initiative, a well-organized and strong sense of responsibility 
  • Excellent computer knowledge and advanced skills using CAD and Microsoft Office applications are required 
Education & Experience: 
  • BS in Engineering or Engineering Management 
  • Three to five years of experience 
  • Experience with REVIT is an advantage 
License & Certifications: 
  • Driver's License Required 
Travel: 
Occasional overnight stays and local day travel may be necessary. You will be responsible for providing your own transportation to and from the office and job sites.  You will be reimbursed for business expenses such as tolls, parking, and business-related mileage at a rate allowable by government standards.  The expenses incurred traveling to and from the office are excluded from reimbursement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
