Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineering Project Manager (Contract)

Location: Newton, MA
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $75.00–$80.00/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineering Project Manager to lead complex electrical engineering and product development programs from concept through commercialization. This role requires a strong technical background combined with exceptional project leadership skills to drive cross-functional teams, manage schedules, mitigate risks, and ensure successful product launches in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, firmware, systems, verification, and regulatory functions while maintaining alignment with business objectives, quality standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex electrical engineering and product development programs from concept through commercialization.
  • Manage cross-functional teams including hardware, firmware, systems engineering, verification, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Drive technical decision-making while balancing project scope, cost, quality, and timelines.
  • Oversee requirements management, risk management, design controls, verification and validation (V&V), and design transfer activities.
  • Coordinate supplier activities and ensure successful collaboration with external partners.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate progress to executive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and remove barriers to keep projects on track.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering and product development.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering programs.
  • Strong background managing hardware, firmware, systems engineering, verification, and regulatory activities.
  • Experience with:
    • Requirements management

    • Verification & Validation (V&V)
    • Supplier management
    • Design transfer
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within regulated industries such as medical devices, robotics, aerospace, or industrial automation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or MBA.
  • PMP certification, Agile certification, Lean Six Sigma, Systems Engineering certification, or similar project management credentials.
  • Experience presenting project updates to executive leadership.
  • Strong understanding of product commercialization and new product introduction (NPI).
