Job description

Our client, a leader in consumer technology innovation, is seeking a Product Design Engineering Program Manager (PD EPM) to lead the technical execution of cutting-edge hardware development programs. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside world-class engineering teams and help bring highly integrated consumer products from concept through production.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional program management skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration, organization, and execution are critical to success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical program management for complex hardware development projects within the Product Design organization.
  • Support early product definition by driving technical discussions and helping close architecture and design decisions.
  • Develop and manage detailed program schedules, milestones, critical paths, feature baselines, and execution plans.
  • Identify technical risks early and partner with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Drive technical issues to resolution by facilitating collaboration and decision-making across engineering and business teams.
  • Provide clear, concise program status updates to stakeholders ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership.
  • Establish and maintain efficient development processes that enable teams to execute against aggressive schedules.
  • Coordinate drawing releases and tooling kickoffs with Product Design Engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
  • Plan and execute prototype builds while coordinating factory operations and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Lead communication between engineering teams, operations, suppliers, and external manufacturing partners throughout product development.

Requirements

  • 2โ€“5+ years of experience in Engineering Program Management, Technical Program Management, or Mechanical Engineering supporting rapid product development.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with one or more of the following manufacturing technologies is highly preferred:
  • CNC machining
  • Metal stamping
  • Forging
  • Die casting
  • Plastic injection molding
  • Compression molding
  • Metal Injection Molding (MIM)
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional hardware development programs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional project management capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with changing priorities and evolving requirements.
  • Experience partnering across Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing organizations.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
