โ€ข Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams through all firmware development phases, including discovery, design, development, QA, staging, release, and post-launch support.

โ€ข Budget & Schedule Management: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets and timelines. Proactively identify and address potential delays or risks to keep firmware programs on schedule and within budget.

โ€ข Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks across technical, security, and compliance areas throughout the firmware development lifecycle, including wireless certification and power management.

โ€ข Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication and alignment between firmware engineering, electrical and mechanical hardware teams, app/cloud engineering, QA, and product to ensure cohesive product development.

โ€ข Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS and bare-metal firmware, wireless connectivity (cellular LTE/5G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), low-power design, and over-the-air (OTA) update mechanisms to guide informed decisions.

โ€ข Quality Assurance: Oversee firmware QA processes, including unit, integration, and field testing, and release management to ensure firmware meets rigorous standards.

โ€ข Release & DevOps Coordination: Manage firmware release schedules and OTA deployment pipelines, and coordinate with firmware and DevOps engineering to ensure smooth, reliable releases across the device fleet.

โ€ข Post-Launch Support: Monitor firmware performance after launch โ€“ device stability, connectivity reliability, battery life, and support tickets โ€“ and implement improvements as needed.

Job Requirements

โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field (Masterโ€™s or MBA preferred).

โ€ข Proven experience managing complex firmware or embedded systems programs from concept to release using Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project management methodologies.

โ€ข Strong technical understanding of embedded firmware development, RTOS or bare-metal systems, and wireless connectivity (cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) for connected hardware products.

โ€ข Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

โ€ข Experience delivering firmware or embedded products on time, on budget, and to high-quality standards.

โ€ข Knowledge of firmware release management, QA processes, and security/compliance considerations for connected products, including wireless carrier and FCC certification.

Essential Job Function

โ€ข Experience as a Program Manager, Scrum Master, or similar leadership role in an embedded or firmware environment.

โ€ข Experience with budgetary planning, cost tracking, and financial accountability for projects.
