What we're seeking: This position is responsible for managing the engineering of telecommunications outside plant in a serving exchange environment. Subject matter expert for all technical aspects of outside plant facilities and associated work such as cable sizing, cable counts, cable records, and permitting for ROW's and easements. This position works as a lead team member with Network Planning, Central Office, Transmission, and Operations to support the growth, replacements, and upgrade of telecommunications plant facilities.

This person provides frontline managing and direction for construction activities associated with outside plant. This position also supports sales, marketing, operations, and regulatory as needed. Experience in engineering fiber-to-home deployments is a requirement.

In this in-person role, you will be required to report to 9 S 4TH STREET, REDLANDS, CA 92373 or 32477 HAUN ROAD, MENIFEE, CA 92584 to complete your work responsibilities. Leadership and management of company and contract work resources Meet Company and department goals Oversees Engineering design for outside plant Proactive review of outside plant facilities to determine necessary upgrades and enhancements Communicate with state, county, city, and national indices to gain information on planned projects that involve growth and changes Communicate with all peers and departments to ensure proper project planning Ensures the accuracy of cable records and updates. Prepare project justifications for approval Prepare loop studies as needed Review and approve contractor invoices Assist in annual budget design Typical Workday allocation 10% - Prepare and monitor the capital plan 15% - Data analysis, Resource Management, Business goals 25% - Manage and review OSP Engineering designs 25% - Manage oversight of all OSP Engineering to ensure conformance to requirements and commitments are met 25% - Maintain relations and communications with state agencies and municipalities peer companies as well as internal Frontier Peer Teams What you'll do: BAU Engineer: Performs all aspects of OSP Engineering including Development Design (greenfield and brownfield), Circuit Design, DOR, BDT Estimates, Road Work for a given Turf Project Administration: Manages Multiple Contract Engineers, performs quality review of work, and interacts with DOT and municipalities as required.

Circuit Design: Designs solutions to circuit orders for Carrier, and retail. Both Copper and Fiber designs, for DSO to large ethernet orders Obligatory Engineer: OSP Engineers who specialize in Road Work Projects, Relationships with local DOT Site Walk: Performs site visits for Circuit orders Circuit Gatekeeper: Manages M6 Tasks and queues to ensure orders are flowing and supports field engineers for M6 BDT: Estimates Costs and network design to provide solutions to sales opportunity Pole Administration: Tracks NJUNs tickets and distributes work to OPCEN and Engineering Drafting What we offer: Nothing is more important to our success than the team that built it. Knowledge of tools utilized by OSP Engineering leadership to include Site Tracker, Infinium, Varasset, FROGS Demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills Ability to effectively train and educate employee Data Analysis software and tools Education/Experience: B.S. degree and/or a minimum of 5 years experience in an outside plant support position. Must be able to work with senior management to meet timely, accurate, and meaningful requirements

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge with a heavy emphasis on outside plant design, cable count design, and capacities. Strong interpersonal skills are very important in discussions and meetings with the Engineering team, regional managers, vendors, local supervisors, and technicians.
