About Our Team
Professional Services is a cross functional organization responsible for capital project delivery, operational run support and custom solution development and implementation. Professional Services bridges multiple industries including life sciences, food and beverage, power and specialty chemical and consumer products. Our main goals focus on increasing manufacturing throughput, improving client technology adoption, contextualizing data, and driving process and product quality into all facets of the manufacturing process.
You will be part of the Process Automation group which will support Commercial Life Sciences (mAb) and Emerging Life Sciences (RNA, mRNA, CAR-T, Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, etc). You will support clients across the nation and globally, both on-site and remote; however, as a New England based company, we pride ourselves on our ability to serve our clients locally.
You will receive wide level of exposure to all aspects of modern manufacturing related to DCS and OEM applications and platforms. This team is often on the cutting edge of the industry change working in partnership with both startups and well-established manufacturing facilities building Greenfield facilities, transitioning and upgrading from legacy systems, and expansion of existing facilities. The Engineering team provides large project engineering, site engineering and integration engineering services using the DeltaV Automation System. Engineers leverage their expertise and knowledge of process control systems and automation across multiple process industries.
SUMMARY - The Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Process Automation Engineer who will develop high quality, well-tested and well-documented application software designs. You will lead DeltaV projects at a variety of customer sites from large scale greenfield installations to smaller process improvement activities.
You will be a member of the Engineering team providing large project engineering, site engineering and integration engineering services using the DeltaV Automation System. You will leverage your expertise and knowledge of process control systems and automation across multiple process industries in order to produce the desired outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES - What You'll Do
  • Development of Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), Detailed Design Specifications (DDS), and Test Scripts
  • Act as the overall technical lead depending on the scope and timeline of the project; independently or within in a team to Design, Implement and Test process control automation software
  • Ensure software project execution is accurate, documented, and delivered on time
  • Improve engineering efficiency of the team through training and utilization of engineers and technicians
  • Develop, adopt, and maintain a budget for a Control System project
  • Write automation based engineering proposals at the request of Account Management and the Engineering Manager
  • Engage cross-functionally between engineering disciplines to ensure deliverables are met on time
  • Customer facing technical communications

Deliverables
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation/adherence of NECI and engineering policies, procedures and standards
  • Read and understand P&ID and SAMA/ISA logic diagrams
  • Design, implement, and test complex DeltaV Batch Unit Operations
  • Understand and communicate with PLCs
  • Provide leadership to team members

QUALIFICATIONS - What You'll Bring
  • Conferred Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years� of process automation control systems engineering experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Knowledge on data collection along with experience Bus technologies and OPC communication
  • Process control knowledge in our focus industries (life sciences - pharmaceutical/biotech, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and power)
  • Specific knowledge of cGMP, batch process control in life science industry with validation experience
  • Expect travel within the Greater Boston area to customer sites, minor additional travel within US or abroad
  • Required Technologies and Systems

    • Secondary � OSI PI, Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, MATLAB, SQL, and Kepware/Matrikon OPC or equivalent

Compensation: This position offers a base salary range of $120,000 to $150,000, based on experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for a variable compensation plan.
