We continuously learn, mentor others, and push for technical excellence, while knowing when to draw the line and ship value to market.## Key Responsibilities & Deliverables* Business Banking product technology strategy and vision* Prioritized technology roadmap and engineering initiatives* Engineering delivery, quality, and operational KPIs* Lead and coach a team of 10-12 software engineers## Product Strategy, Vision, and Planning* Partner with the Product Manager to shape and execute the Business Banking product vision and roadmap from a technology perspective, aligned with broader enterprise and platform strategy* Actively participate in PI planning and other agile planning ceremonies, providing technical leadership for backlog refinement, quarterly planning, retrospectives, and business reviews* Advise Product Management on technology opportunities, architectural improvements, emerging technologies, and product gaps to inform roadmap decisions* Recommend and champion technology investments that support business banking objectives, scalability, security, and regulatory compliance* Support product teams in translating complex business banking needs into well‐defined features, technical designs, and user stories## Design and Development* Oversee the design, development, deployment, and ongoing support of Business Banking software solutions across the full product lifecycle* Establish, uphold, and evolve engineering standards, best practices, and policies to ensure consistency, reliability, security, and performance* Collaborate with Architects and peer Engineering Managers to identify and manage cross‐system dependencies, risks, and architectural alignment* Participate in and support agile development events, including design reviews, sprint reviews, and product demonstrations* Build and sustain high‐performing engineering teams by setting clear missions, coaching career growth, and supporting personal development* Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation while providing actionable feedback through code reviews and technical discussions## Performance Measurement and Optimization* Define, analyze, and monitor delivery, quality, and operational metrics at the product level* Use data‐driven insights to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, and drive execution of technical and operational strategies## Qualifications & Experience* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field* 7+ years of experience in technology roles, with progressive responsibility in engineering leadership and people management* Strong understanding of multi‐tenant, cloud‐based, high‐transaction‐volume systems, ideally within financial services or banking* Experience with full‐stack software development in an enterprise environment (e.g., Java, HTML5, JavaScript, Angular/React or similar frameworks)* Hands‐on experience with Agile and Agile‐at‐scale frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Lean), including CI/CD and test automation practices* Technical expertise in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python), cloud technologies, and product management tools (e.g., Jira)* Proven ability to think strategically and articulate a clear technical vision and roadmap in partnership with Product Management* Strong leadership and people‐management skills, with experience leading engineers across multiple teams* Excellent collaboration and communication skills, enabling effective problem identification, solution design, and decision‐making* Experience working with Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Solution Train Engineers (STEs), and system stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution of strategic themes* Ability to remain close enough to teams to add value and technical insight, while empowering engineers to independently solve problems* Serve as an Agile coach and trusted advisor to engineering teams**Statement to Third Party Agencies** To ALL recruitment agencies: Candescent only accepts resumes from agencies on the preferred supplier list.
