Leidos QTC Health Services (LQTC) is seeking a VP, Product Engineering & Developer Experience to support our Chief Product Office. This executive leader will serve as the Chief Developer and champion of a Developer-First approach, responsible for delivering software capabilities that power and scale a large healthcare services business. This role owns the strategy and execution of product engineering across the enterprise, ensuring that technology enables operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer and patient outcomes. This role leads Product Engineering and Developer Experience functions, partnering closely with Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure leaders."

This is a fully remote role with up to 25% travel required.

Primary ResponsibilitiesLead Product Engineering at Enterprise Scale
  • Own end-to-end delivery of product engineering capabilities supporting a large healthcare services operation
  • Oversee application development, modernization, and sustainment across a complex portfolio of healthcare systems
  • Drive cloud-native development and legacy system transformation to improve scalability, performance, and agility
Champion a Developer-First Culture
  • Establish and lead a Developer-First engineering ecosystem that maximizes developer productivity and innovation
  • Define engineering standards, reusable patterns, and “golden paths” that accelerate delivery and reduce friction
  • Act as the voice of developers, ensuring tools, platforms, and processes are intuitive, efficient, and scalable
Deliver Mission-Critical Healthcare Solutions
  • Translate mission priorities, accessibility, quality, and timeliness of care, into scalable technology solutions
  • Enable systems that support high-volume workflows, including scheduling, case management, diagnostics, and reporting
  • Drive measurable improvements in service delivery, patient experience, and operational efficiency
Drive Product & Engineering Integration
  • Partner with Product, Operations, and Business leaders to define product vision, roadmaps, and priorities
  • Align engineering execution with business objectives, customer needs, and growth strategies
  • Ensure seamless collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
Modernize and Transform Technology
  • Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives, including cloud migration and application modernization
  • Implement DevSecOps, automation, and AI/ML-driven capabilities to accelerate innovation
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage
Ensure Security, Compliance, and Quality
  • Embed secure-by-design and compliant-by-default practices into all engineering processes

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 20+ years of relevant experience in software engineering
  • Senior leadership in product engineering experience
  • Proven success delivering technology solutions that support large-scale business operations or mission-critical systems
  • Cloud & Platform Expertise: Deep experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including cloud-native architecture, scalability, and modernization
  • Enterprise Platform Experience: Hands-on experience delivering solutions using platforms such as Salesforce, including low-code/no-code application development and integration
  • Healthcare Systems Expertise: Experience implementing or integrating Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems or similar healthcare technologies in regulated environments Experience leading application modernization and cloud transformation initiatives
  • Deep expertise in modern software development practices, including DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automation
  • Strong understanding of developer experience and how to optimize engineering productivity
  • Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare, government, or similar preferred)
  • Knowledge of AI/ML, cybersecurity, and secure software development practices
  • Demonstrated ability to align engineering strategy with business and mission outcomes
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced certifications in AWS, Azure, Salesforce, or similar platforms
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master’s or PhD in a related field
    • Experience in healthcare or government health services
    • Active DoD Secret clearance
