We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Manager with a background in control engineering. This person must be ambitious and possess the desire to grow into broader leadership position. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of all maintenance and asset improvement activities at the Memphis Blue Scope Coated Product plant. This involves leading a team of mechanical technicians, electrical technicians to meet the operational needs of the business and addresses equipment risks appropriately. The Maintenance Manager will have a strong alignment to supporting the production and quality teams by being a reliable, capable and collaborative partner in maximizing the output of the plant.
Key Focus Areas
Equipment Reliability and Maintenance
  • Ensure timely and effective maintenance to minimize downtime for critical machinery by implementing a preventive maintenance program and optimizing protocols.

Quality Control
  • Maintain high quality standards in output materials through regular quality audits, coordination with the quality assurance team, and implementing corrective actions.

Cost Management
  • Efficiently manage the maintenance budget by regularly reviewing expenditures, seeking cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing inventory management.

Safety and Compliance
  • Achieve zero workplace accidents and compliance violations by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety drills, and staying updated with industry regulations.

Team Leadership and Development
  • Enhance team performance through regular training, setting clear performance metrics, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Implement process improvements and new technologies to enhance productivity, while encouraging a culture of innovation within the team.

Effective Communication and Customer Satisfaction
  • Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer and internal expectations, supporting production and delivery timelines.

Project Management and Capital Expenditures
  • Effectively manage maintenance projects and capital expenditures by utilizing project management tools, preparing detailed budgets, and ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.

Foundational Experience
Required Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a mechanical or electrical technical discipline or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ten years of experience in industrial maintenance in a continuous operating environment
  • Prior Maintenance Manager experience.

Desired Qualifications: To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some or all of the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a mechanical or electrical technical discipline
  • Ten years of experience in industrial maintenance in a continuous operating environment
  • Prior Maintenance Manager experience
  • Project Management capabilities
