Facilities Maintenance Manager-Healthcare
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Facilities Manager to lead plant operations, maintenance, engineering services, regulatory compliance, and facility support functions within a healthcare environment. This role serves as the primary point of contact for facility operations and is responsible for ensuring building systems, maintenance programs, budgets, safety initiatives, and staff performance are operating at the highest level.
This is an excellent opportunity for a facility leader who enjoys balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day operational involvement and has a strong background in healthcare facilities, engineering, maintenance, or plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Leadership
  • Lead and develop plant operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Manage daily facility operations, ensuring maintenance, safety, compliance, and CMMS programs are executed effectively.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for technical and administrative staff.
  • Support critical building operations and ensure uninterrupted facility services.
  • Monitor KPIs and service metrics, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Maintenance & Engineering Oversight
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, repairs, vendor activities, and facility improvement projects.
  • Ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, life safety, and utility systems are maintained in accordance with regulatory standards and operational requirements.
  • Support project execution while maintaining operational continuity.
  • Review maintenance practices and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing facility operations.
  • Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation reviews.
  • Oversee compliance programs related to:
    • Life Safety
    • Safety Management
    • Security Management
    • Hazardous Materials
    • Waste Management
    • Infection Control
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all workplace safety protocols.
Financial & Vendor Management
  • Manage operational facility budgets and control expenditures.
  • Track financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Oversee vendor performance, service agreements, and contract compliance.
  • Ensure vendors meet service expectations during both regular business hours and after-hours support activities.
Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of Facilities Management, Plant Operations, Engineering, or Maintenance Leadership experience.
  • Previous experience managing maintenance teams, budgets, and operational performance.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS/work order management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Formal apprenticeship, technical trade school training, or equivalent technical education.
  • Experience within healthcare facilities, hospitals, medical campuses, or regulated environments.
  • Experience overseeing multiple facilities or campuses.
  • Professional certifications such as:
    • CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager)
    • CPMM (Certified Plant Maintenance Manager)
    • CFM (Certified Facility Manager)
    • Other relevant facilities or engineering certifications
