Job description

Quality Engineering Managerย to lead quality performance in a fast-paced Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing customer concerns, leading corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements.

This position plays a key role in improving quality performance, reducing non-quality costs, and supporting continuous improvement across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all quality assurance activities and KPIs (PPM, claims, rework, audits)
  • Drive root cause analysisย ย ย and ensure effective corrective actions
  • Manage customer complaints and reporting, ensuring timely communication
  • Support and oversee APQP and PPAP submissions for new and existing programs
  • Monitor and improve supplier quality performance and audits
  • Manage non-conforming material (DMR) and containment activities
  • Coordinate quality lab and metrology activities
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer requirements
  • Support plant initiatives focused on continuous improvement and cost reduction
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Maintenance)

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
  • Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA
    • Root cause analysis (5PB / 8D)
    • GD&T and quality systems
  • Experience with IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 / VDA standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in welding and/or stamping operations
  • Experience managing supplier quality and audits
  • Exposure to metrology and lab analysis
  • Background in a Tier 1 automotive environment
