Overview
We are seeking a Staff Level Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer to join our Environmental Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in Cary, North Carolina
Responsibilities
  • Conduct field tasks such as soil, groundwater, soil gas and indoor air monitoring, stormwater and surface water sampling pursuant to defined work scopes to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Assist with preparation of technical documents, project proposals, work plans, and project specifications.
  • Work with project technical staff and managers through site assessment, investigation, development of remedial strategy, and attainment of closure requirements under state regulations.
  • Conduct a variety of field work including environmental assessments, environmental investigations, site inspections, feasibility tests, remedial implementation, and subcontractor oversight.
  • Support the development of proposals.
  • Support financial management of projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or other related disciplines.
  • Should have 0-5 years in environmental consulting/engineering with focus on investigation and remediation projects.
  • Experience in and ability to interpret letter and intent of regulations in multiple states (e.g., NC, SC, VA, GA)
  • Candidate will possess excellent communication and writing, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple deadlines for multiple clients and project managers.
  • Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer license is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, good mechanical and computer skills
  • Results oriented, decisive, take charge, extroverted, persuasive, adapts to change, sense of urgency, self- directed, self-reliant and able to understand big picture
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
