Location: South Bend, IN
Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000
Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer & Analytics Lead to drive machine learning initiatives, build scalable data infrastructure, and partner closely with business and operations leaders to deliver data-driven decisions. This role combines data engineering, advanced analytics, and applied machine learning in a highly visible position with significant ownership and impact.

The ideal candidate has experience building production-ready data and analytics solutions, translating business needs into technical solutions, and leveraging data to support growth, optimization, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own machine learning, advanced analytics, and data engineering initiatives from concept through production deployment.
  • Build and maintain scalable data infrastructure, pipelines, and reporting solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to business and operations teams, translating data into actionable insights and measurable results.
  • Drive automation, predictive analytics, and experimentation efforts to improve decision-making, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Establish best practices around data quality, governance, model monitoring, and overall analytics performance.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a closely related field.
  • Strong experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience building and supporting production data pipelines and analytics solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning model development, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical, business, and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in eCommerce, retail, marketplace, omnichannel, or digital commerce environments.
  • Experience supporting businesses that sell through both direct-to-consumer websites and third-party marketplaces such as Amazon and Walmart.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with modern data orchestration and transformation tools such as dbt, Airflow, Prefect, SSIS, or similar.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and modern analytics workflows.
  • Exposure to MLOps, vector databases, recommendation systems, pricing analytics, or predictive modeling.
