Job description

Veeva Systems is a mission-driven organization and pioneer in industry cloud, helping life sciences companies bring therapies to patients faster. As one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in history, we surpassed $3B in revenue in our last fiscal year with extensive growth potential ahead.

At the heart of Veeva are our values: Do the Right Thing, Customer Success, Employee Success, and Speed. We're not just any public company – we made history in 2021 by becoming a public benefit corporation (PBC), legally bound to balancing the interests of customers, employees, society, and investors.

As a Work Anywhere company, we support your flexibility to work from home or in the office, so you can thrive in your ideal environment.

Join us in transforming the life sciences industry, committed to making a positive impact on its customers, employees, and communities.

The Role

Veeva Ostro sits at the intersection of life sciences, marketing, and artificial intelligence. We empower pharmaceutical brands, healthcare providers (HCPs), and patients by orchestrating AI-enabled omnichannel engagement across the entire patient and prescriber lifecycle.

As the Data Analytics Lead, you will own the data systems and associated measurement analyses that sit at the intersection of our products, customers, and commercial strategy. Our products generate significant data as users ask questions and take action, and you will work with the product team to surface and execute on insights that govern how our product evolves. This data is also used by our customers in their planning efforts, and you will work closely with our client service and implementation teams to enable and deliver on customized analyses that reflect the nuances of each client’s strategy. To deliver on the above, you will proactively architect, build, and scale the next generation of our data platform to make it modern, scalable, and AI-ready.

What You'll Do

  • Modern Data Architecture & Engineering: Work alongside platform and data engineers to upgrade our existing data architecture to be high fidelity, AI-ready, and easily accessible for both internal and external users
  • Customer Data Integrations: Guide the execution of data integrations into select customer systems in partnership with our solutions engineering team
  • Product Analyses: Uplevel our standard suite of analytics and measurement insights in partnership with our product team
  • Custom Analyses: Execute on client-specific, custom analytical requests in partnership with our client services team
  • Leadership & Team Mentorship: Direct and grow a team of data analysts and data engineers

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on expertise in SQL / Python and strong capabilities in data modeling, advanced quantitative analysis, and working with large data sets
  • Strong command of modern data architecture particularly in enabling AI readiness. You will not be the sole engineer building every component yourself, but you need enough technical depth to actively participate in the design and build
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data science/analytics and/or data engineering roles including in a managerial capacity leading teams
  • Recent work experience should relate to the pharmaceutical / life sciences industry (not necessarily at a pharmaceutical / life sciences company)
  • Undergrad or masters in a technical discipline (computer science, statistics, engineering, math, physics, etc.)

Veeva’s headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.

Veeva is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, national origin or ancestry, age, disability, marital status, pregnancy, protected veteran status, protected genetic information, political affiliation, or any other characteristics protected by local laws, regulations, or ordinances.
