Description
Acorn Engineering, Inc., a Maine-based, 100% employee-owned civil engineering, landscape architecture, surveying and construction administration firm, is currently seeking an Office Assistant to join our growing team. This position is associated with our Portland, Maine office, located at the edge of the Old Port. This position will report to the Director of Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Respond to Acorn general mailbox inquiries
  • Act as the personal face of Acorn for deliveries and guests
  • Order office and field supplies
  • Facilitate the creation and collection of weekly and monthly signed timesheets
  • Help maintain an organized and presentable office
  • Coordinate employee engagement, outings and meetings
  • Assist with professional development trainings
  • Assist with industry award applications
  • Assist with sponsorship/conference management, preparation and attendance
  • Assist with marketing efforts
  • Help prepare proposals and applications and assist with printing and delivery
  • Recruitment support
  • Work requirements: In office full-time, occasional weekend and night-time work, travel, driver license, vehicle

Qualifications and Skills
Associates degree or equivalent work experience preferred; Experience in a fast-moving office environment; detail oriented, ability to multitask, good time management, excellent written and verbal skills, and ability to operate all standard office equipment, as well as exceptional computer and organizational skills. Must be willing to learn the business and be a team player.
