NYC Parks is an award-winning city agency that builds and cares for public spaces for New Yorkers to connect, play and enjoy. These public spaces, encompassing over 5,000 properties and 14% of the city's land and coastline, include seawalls and waterfronts, pedestrian bridges, beaches and boardwalks, parks and playgrounds, historic houses, recreation centers and pools.
Major Responsibilities
- Under supervision and with direction from the lead engineers, perform engineering work of moderate difficulty and responsibility for the Capital Projects division.
- Inspect/observe construction sites to monitor progress and ensure design compliance. Investigate existing facilities or structural elements for safety and structural integrity.
- Prepare assessment reports, scopes of work, estimates, permit applications and related documents.
- Complete structural analysis and design for new construction and repair or modification of existing structures.
- Draft detailed drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD.
- Coordinate all work for ongoing projects, with internal and external stakeholders.
- Propose and manage procurement and oversight for work by specialty consultants and contractors.
- Perform miscellaneous technical and administrative tasks to ensure public facilities are optimally designed, constructed and maintained.
