Job description

The Methods and Standards Engineer is a pivotal role focused on enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring consistency across all manufacturing or production engineering processes. This position requires a blend of process optimization expertise and regulatory knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.ย ย Successful candidates will possess excellent organizational skills and ability to apply systems thinking to detail solutions addressing complex open-ended problems.ย

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
  • Develop,ย maintain, and implement company-wide technical standards,ย standard operatingย procedures, and guidelines related to manufacturing, assembly, andย testย withinย an aircraftย production environment.ย ย 
  • Prepare detailed reports, documentation, travelers, and work instructions for new and existing products, andย facilitateย training ofย production staff on new methods and technologies.
  • Ensure all operationsย comply withย internal quality management systems (QMS), safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, AS/ISO standards), and other relevant aerospace industry requirements (e.g., FAA/EASA, NADCAP, IAEG).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and production staff, to ensure seamless integration of new methods and alignment between design and execution.
  • Research and recommendย new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing techniques to improve capabilities and capacity.
  • Assistย in troubleshooting production problems and conducting root cause analysis to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Aย Bachelor'sย degree in relevant engineering discipline isย required; aย Master'sย degree or professional certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience with authoring Standards and Procedures supported by Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans in a highly regulated environment is required.ย ย Prior work experience with New Product Introduction or Aircraft Entryย Intoย Service is preferred.ย 
  • Strong understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other data driven decision making and process improvement methodologies.ย 
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools, which includes CAD software, data analysis tools, MES, PLM, and ERP systems in addition to standard Microsoft Office Suite.ย ย Experience with Dassault Systems 3DExperienceย suiteย preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong project management abilities, keen attention to detail, and excellent written communication skills are essential.ย ย Comfort working in an environment of rapid expansion where your decisions make a difference isย required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This role is primarily office-based, situated near active aerospace production areas. The Methods and Standards Engineer collaborates closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop documentation, analyze data, and maintain standards. Success in this role depends on strong digital fluency, process discipline, and the ability to work within structured, cross-functional workflows.In addition to desk-based responsibilities, regular time on the production floor is expected to observe and support manufacturing processes, resolve issues, and ensure alignment between design and execution. The role demands comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, requiring adaptability, attention to detail, and effective communication across departments.
