Job description

Product Engineering Technician

Lynden Door Lynden, WA
Department: Operations

Join our Product Management team as a Product Engineering Technician, a hands-on, cross-functional role focused on designing, testing, and improving products to meet customer needs and market demands. This position plays a key role throughout the product lifecyclefrom concept and testing through production and iterationbalancing technical feasibility, quality, and customer value.

The Product Engineering Technician partners closely with Operations, and other internal teams to support product changes, innovation projects, testing, and continuous improvement efforts.


Role Overview

  • Translate customer and business requirements into product features and improvements
  • Support the full product lifecycle, including concept development, testing, implementation, and iteration
  • Serve as a technical and testing resource for Operations and Product Management
  • Champion product quality and performance on behalf of the customer

Work Schedule

  • MondayFriday, 7:00 a.m.3:45 p.m.
  • Additional hours may be required based on business needs
  • On-site position

Job Responsibilities

As a Product Engineer, you will:

  • Own Product Change Requests (PCRs), including test plans, execution, and documentation
  • Review test results and prepare reports with data-driven recommendations
  • Coordinate construction and testing of orders related to PCRs and innovation projects across multiple teams
  • Conduct material and product testing to industry standards
  • Assist with implementing approved product changes and new products in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Provide technical support to Operations related to quality, process issues, and investigative testing
  • Investigate remakes to help identify root causes and improvement opportunities

About You / Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience and knowledge of door manufacturing, including assembly processes and materials
  • Understands operational processes across the organization and how changes impact downstream teams
  • Has expertise in materials, testing methods, and data analysis
  • Is highly process-oriented and detail-driven, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communicates clearly and consistently, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Is comfortable explaining testing activity, results, and recommended next steps to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Is self-motivated, organized, and a strong team player who can manage competing priorities effectively

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • At least two years of experience in door manufacturing or a related industry, or a combination of education and experience that has prepared you to be successful in this role.
  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    - Wage: $24.50 - $26.50 (based on experience)
