About the Role

Koopman Lumber is hiring an Estimator / EWP Designer to support our growing team. This role is responsible for turning plans into accurate material estimates and engineered wood layouts for residential and light commercial projects.

This is a fast-paced, detail-driven position where accuracy matters. If you enjoy working with plans, solving problems, and being part of a team that builds real projects, this is a great opportunity.


What Youโ€™ll Do

Review construction plans and specs to create accurate material takeoffs
Design EWP floor and roof systems (I-joists, LVLs, beams, rim board)
Produce layouts and placement drawings using design software
Analyze load paths and framing to ensure buildable, code-compliant designs
Identify value engineering opportunities to improve cost and performance
Work closely with sales, vendors, and customers to keep projects moving
Resolve discrepancies and support revisions as needed
