Job description

Contech is a leading provider of innovative infrastructure solutions. We are seeking a dynamic Staff Design Engineer to join our team. In this consultative role, you will play a key part in providing technical support, designing engineering solutions, and contributing to the success of our products in the market.

About the Role:

  • Review project plans and provide design services.  Develop product solutions and prepare submittal drawings and calculations.  Offer technical advice to support the integration of Contech’s products into site plans.
  • Conduct structural analysis, hydraulic analysis, and geotechnical reviews.  Provide drainage support for products such as corrugated metal pipe and plastic pipe.
  • Work closely with in-house engineers, CAD Techs, Sales/Marketing Team, and external engineers.  Provide technical support to the Operations/Manufacturing team for proper fabrication.  Communicate and coordinate efforts with field sales staff and manufacturing team.
  • Offer training and guidance to the team.  Check work produced by team members for accuracy.  Assist in the development of training programs and aids for Contech’s products.
  • Maintain professional relationships and attend industry trade shows, seminars, and continuing education courses.  Contribute to the writing and development of technical papers and product literature.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree.
  • Structural, hydraulic, or geotechnical background preferred.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in civil site project preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • AutoCAD skills proficiency preferred.
  • Some exposure to Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
