Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.

Position Overview

Riverside Research is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer to support the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.This position will function as part of a team providing systems engineering integration and architecture support. They will assist in developing current MASINT processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED) architectures and networks. They will advise on, oversee, and assist with software development incorporated into PED Modernization and a cloud architecture. They will apply agile methodologies in a proxy product owner role to assist developers in creating software products supporting MASINT PED throughout defined, regular intervals. As needed, they will support the creation and review of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts.They will apply their strong interpersonal and organizational skills in building relationships with community stakeholders.The work is in support of both Intelligence Community and Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

Live or relocate to a commutable distance to Wright Patterson Airforce Base and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Document current MASINT processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED) architectures and networks.
  • Advising on software product development and incorporation into cloud architectures.
  • Apply agile methodologies to advise on and support software development.
  • Support information on community acquisition efforts and prepare a program plan that lays out an integrated approach.
  • Facilitate common architecture solutions to apply across the MASINT enterprise.
  • Applies system engineering methodologies to enhance R&D and acquisition processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must have the following key qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a mix of systems engineering/architecture development and technical project management in support of the IC or DoD.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and interact with technically and organizationally diverse personnel.

Any of the following additional qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Master’s degree in systems engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or information technology related technical fields.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a mix of systems engineering/architecture development and technical project management in support of the IC or DoD.
  • Experience working with Software Developers, System Architects and System Engineers
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies, and/or agile certifications such as Product Owner.
  • Familiarity with the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML), to support creation of artifacts such as Block Definition Diagrams, Internal Block Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, and Activity Diagrams that display operational views (OV), system views (SV), capability views (CV), and data views (DV).
  • Experience engineering / implementing operational prototypes is highly desired.
  • Experience in MASINT processing, exploitation, and dissemination (PED).
