For a designer who has been doing one slice of a larger product at a bigger company and wants to see the whole picture, this is a meaningful step forward.What you will be doing Engineering custom 3D and 2D mechanical assembly drawings for large-scale stainless steel equipment to precise customer specifications Developing comprehensive Bills of Materials and technical routing sheets for shop floor fabrication and assembly Creating precision flat layouts for waterjet cutting and material preparation Collaborating directly with production on the shop floor to monitor projects in progress and resolve technical issues in real time Owning the full machine assembly ensuring accuracy from main structure down to the smallest detail through deliveryWhat we are looking for 1 3 years of professional mechanical design experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks Interest in full-system design ownership candidates who want to move beyond drafting into true design will fit best here Associate's degree or technical certificate in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field preferred Reliable, independent work style with the ability to take direction from a fast-moving engineering team Solid, stable work history U.S. citizen or Green Card holder residing within 45 minutes of the Waukesha County / Greater Milwaukee areaStrong pluses (not required): Experience designing stainless steel tanks, vessels, or sanitary equipment Exposure to food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments Familiarity with waterjet cutting layouts or flat pattern development
