The Position:

We are looking for a Assistant Electrical Engineer to join the Service Engineering team, supporting the ongoing analysis and reporting efforts for Sungrowโ€™s performance with our PV products. The right person will have a strong analytics background with equal parts technical and analytical skills. Duties require broad conceptual judgment, quantitative thinking, strong initiative, and ability to deal with complex technical problems. This position will enable the Service Engineering group to deliver value and a clear picture on product performance at project sites. Ideal candidates are proactive, goal-oriented, and team-players. They will work independently yet integrate with other teams comfortably with field service and CoE team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate ad hoc data analysis and research across PV products
  • Monthly quality trend for overall, by project sites, by product types. An analysis of if there are any potential quality risks for a certain part, also needs to come up with a suggestion for the parts planning team for putting more inventory of certain parts.
  • Put a summary of the potential quality issues and the warranty cases happening. Pushing HQ team to come up with RCA and resolution. Push to have rework to mitigate risk of downtime due to component defects or malfunction.
  • Auditing warranty service engineering service report for each project and identify potential quality issues.
  • Push for quality alert with the resolution to teams or vendors to make sure they will follow the instruction to tackle the issue before rework done.
  • A summary of the reworks under processing now. Especially for the critical reworks and critical customers.
  • Review and work with HQ to update RCA and CoE Case Status
  • Additional duties as assigned by CoE Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mandarin speaking is a plus
  • Must possess analytical skills and quality background
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook). Airtable experience a plus
  • Ability to analyze opportunities, define successful approaches, and proactively solve problems.
  • Ability to drive complex programs across organizational structures while balancing the day-to-day tactical needs of the program.
  • Ability to have meetings during non-office with HQ or other regions
  • 2+ Years of quality related background

Education or Desired License and Certificates:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Solar & Battery Storage experience is a plus

  • Self-starter, strong initiatives and an excellent communicator
  • System and product level mindset
  • Organization, detailed-oriented nature and strong initiative
  • Experience in risk and change management.

Travel:

  • 20%.

Work Location and Status:

  • Contract-to-hire, hybrid position based in Houston office

For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $80,000 - $100,000 This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The base salary offered is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other factors related to the role.
